I gave it a coat of Sky fresco finish paint. I used this paint as it reacts well with the Picket Fence distress stain which I gave the box a coat of when the paint was dry.
I sealed the piece with a coat of matt medium. I then stamped directly onto the box using an archival ink and masking the images as I went. When this was all dry, I dragged a black acrylic dabber around the edges to give it a bit of definition.
I finished it off with an old vintage button as a faux knob and a fleur-de-lys charm on the front.
This is a very quick little box to decorate and makes a great gift.
The stamps I have used are from Artistic Outpost.

ReplyDeleteA stunning creation. Thanks for sharing and the inspiration!!1 Have several little boxes in my stash, so will now be having a go, following your instructions, which I am grateful for. I think I would have got it all the wrong way round, but now understand that I should seal first and THEN stamp.K Got it!!!! Thanks again
